Matthew McConaughey has played some incredible roles over the years including a man that illegally transports HIV medication in Dallas Buyers Club, a badass astronaut that travels back in time in Interstellar and an enchanting chest beater in Wolf of Wall Street.

But he could be taking on his most legendary role yet as a full-time film professor of practice in the Department of Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas.

Imagine coming into your lecture and having this guy as your leader.

McConaughey released a statement following the news, saying: "It's the class I wish I would have had when I was in film school. Working in the classroom with these students gives me a chance to prepare them.

"Making movies, turning words on paper into film, is both a science and art - no matter the time or generation. The elements of truth and genuine joy for the process are timeless. That will always be our classroom focus."

Since early last year, students at UT have been able to study a film that McConaughey stars in called The Beach Bum.

The movie is about a man with enormous riches who pisses it all away on drugs, girls, partying and a very, very lavish lifestyle. McConaughey, aka Moondog, is a poet who gets arrested and tries to churn out a poem to last through the ages. It also shows us beautiful cars, flying a plane while blazed and a parrot that's addiction to cocaine.

That would be pretty cool to study a film that the star actor was in.

McConaughey graduated from University of Texas Austin with a film degree in 1993 and in the same year he featured in Dazed and Confused.
