Matthew Perry Has Recurring Nightmares About A 'Friends' Reunion

It can't be that bad, surely?

It looks like we can all stop sharing those fake Friends reunion posts as it's definitely not happening.

How do we know? Well, Matthew Perry (that bloke who played Chandler Bing) has revealed that he's so terrified of a Friends reunion going balls up that he has recurring nightmares about it.

I imagine that it's quite difficult after being a part of one of the biggest TV shows of all time. It would mess with you a bit, especially as fans have been crying out for one more episode since the final one aired back in 2004.

The 47-year-old actor spoke to Variety and was asked about the persistent rumours that just won't go away.

He explained: "I have this recurring nightmare - I'm not kidding about this. When I'm asleep, I have this nightmare that we do Friends again and nobody cares.

"We do a whole series, we come back, and nobody cares about it. So if anybody asks me, I'm gonna say 'no'.

"The thing is, we ended on such a high. We can't beat it. Why would we go and do it again?"

Perry has flirted with TV shows, such as Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Go On, and The Odd Couple, but they all failed to replicate Friends' success and were sadly short lived.

He's now turned his attention to the stage, writing a play called The End of Longing, which opened off-Broadway on Monday night following a run in London.

He decided to write the role for himself because he was concerned that otherwise he'd never get away from his famous Friends alter-ego.

He explained: "No one's going to write a part for me like this one. People still see me as Chandler, the goofy, sarcastic guy, and this is not that.

"I don't think that anybody's out there thinking, 'I'll write this for Perry', other than me.

"So I did that, and I think probably the next thing I do will be written by me, too. In the second half of my life, I don't want to do your standard sitcom television. I want to do edgier, darker, dramatic stuff."

Fair play to him. But we still want a reunion.
