Netflix Confirms New Episodes Of Power Will Be Released Weekly From August

This will be good news for some, bad for others.

Everyone was pretty gutted when they found out that season six of Power was going to be its last.

We've been given a few more details about those remaining episodes, thanks to Netflix. Instead of dumping whole season in one go, which is what many of us are used to, they'll be coming in weekly instalments.

That might be good news for some, bad news for others.

While many of us love a good binge, there's something about having to wait each week for the episode to drop that's more satisfying.

Netflix says the first episode will drop on August 27 and then every week after that. If you're not in the UK then sadly it won't be on Netflix and you'll have to get your Power fix somewhere else. For Aussie viewers, it'll be on the Stan streaming service and Americans and see it on Starz.

The US crime drama hit Netflix in the UK just last year, but has managed to get itself an impressive fanbase already.

Following the end of season four, fans are not so patiently waiting for the fifth, and now Starz has announced it will premiere on Sunday 1 July.

But fans needn't feel too sad about the whole thing, because a spin-off is already planned.

In a statement seen by TVLine, Starz president of programming Carmi Zlotnik said: "Season six brings us to the end of what we know is just the first chapter of the Power story. However, as one chapter comes to an end, another will begin.

"Courtney Kemp and 50 Cent have created a world rich with complex and dynamic characters, and there are a number of stories we plan to tell as we continue to explore and expand the Power universe."

Teasing the upcoming spin-off the show's co-creator Courtney Kemp said it will 'follow some of your beloved Power characters beyond the scope of the initial series...but we will play with your expectations of which characters, where and the master timeline of it all, creating a Power universe as unpredictable as the original'.

Sounds exciting, eh?

Meanwhile, Naturi Naughton has told fans to 'expect a lot of drama, a lot of pain - my daughter's dead! - a lot of fighting between Tasha and Ghost... It's about to be, like, next-level drama and I think this season is our best season yet'.

Power stars Omari Hardwick, Joseph Sikora, Rotimi Akinosho, Lela Loren and, of course, 50 Cent are all expected to return for the fifth season.
