It's officially the beginning of the end of Netflix's involvement in the Marvel universe, as the streaming service drops the trailer for Jessica Jones Season 3. Watch it here:

It will be released on 14 June, with the official synopsis reading: "When Jessica (Krysten Ritter) crosses paths with a highly intelligent psychopath, she and Trish (Rachael Taylor) must repair their fractured relationship and team up to take him down.

"But a devastating loss reveals their conflicting ideas of heroism and sets them on a collision course that will forever change them both."

Having confirmed The Punisher will no longer be on Netflix either, it'll mark the end of an era for Marvel's TV series.

The end began with the cancellation of Iron Fist last year, which didn't come as a huge surprise, with the show's two-season run getting a pretty weak reception.

When news of Luke Cage's cancellation followed, it came as a shock to everyone, seeing as it was received well by both fans and critics. Then came Daredevil, which was easily the most popular of the Marvel Netflix shows.

It then became clear they would all be cancelled, and by that time it became clear all the Marvel Netflix shows would be gone. When The Punisher was cancelled, Jessica Jones Season 3 was being teased as 'the final season'.

The Netflix/Marvel collaboration is no more.

In a statement to LADbible, the streaming service said: "Marvel's The Punisher will not return for a third season on Netflix. Showrunner Steve Lightfoot, the terrific crew, and exceptional cast including star Jon Bernthal, delivered an acclaimed and compelling series for fans, and we are proud to showcase their work on Netflix for years to come."

The statement also said Marvel's Jessica Jones would also not return to Netflix after its upcoming third season.

"In addition, in reviewing our Marvel programming, we have decided that the upcoming third season will also be the final season for Marvel's Jessica Jones," it continued.

"We are grateful to showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, star Krysten Ritter and the entire cast and crew, for three incredible seasons of this groundbreaking series, which was recognised by the Peabody Awards among many others. We are grateful to Marvel for five years of our fruitful partnership and thank the passionate fans who have followed these series from the beginning."
