Good news, everybody! Netflix has officially announced that Stranger Things has been renewed for a third season.

The streaming service has confirmed the good news on Twitter.

After writing a slightly teasing post asking Twitter if it should make another season, it then followed up with a second post confirming it.

In case you were wondering, at the time of writing 55 percent of people had voted yes to bringing it back and 45 percent of people are fucking idiots.

Fans were pretty pleased with the news and expressed that joy through the medium of gifs:

There's no confirmed date yet, but I'm really hoping we don't have to wait two years.

The show's creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, have previously said they had planned a third season of the show. In an interview with Vulture earlier this year, the pair said they see the show as a 'four-season thing and then out', which means they're going to have to cram a lot of answers in the next couple of seasons.

"We just have to keep adjusting the story," Matt said. "Though I don't know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year."

"They're going to have to get the fuck out of this town! It's ridiculous," added Ross. He makes a very interesting point. Those poor kids would need years of therapy, at least.

So that means we have two more seasons to figure out what the fuck is going on in the Upside Down, how much heartache Joyce can actually take and see if justice is served for Barb and Bob (RIP).
