Netflix's Dead To Me has already proved itself to be a massive hit with fans, but while you've been binge-watching you might have missed a teeny little reference to the movie Anchorman.

The show stars Anchorman's Christina Applegate as widow Jen, who is desperate to find the hit and run driver who killed her husband.

And Christina isn't the only link to Anchorman, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are both executive producers on the show and it seems as though they've had a bit of fun popping a few little Easter eggs.

Christina Applegate starred alongside Will Ferrell in Anchorman, now the pair are working together again on Dead To Me.

In episode eight, after looking for every single registered owner of a '66 Mustang in Orange County, she ends up at the door of Andrew.

Some eagle-eyed viewers were quick to spot that Andrew bares a bit of a resemblance to Ron Burgundy - but it's not just his physical appearance.

Once inside his house Jen comments on a piece of wooden art, prompting Andrew to say: "Made that myself. It's mahogany."

Jen replies: "Hm. That's a quality wood."

Fans of Anchorman might remember, Ron telling Veronica: "I'm very Important. I have many leather bound books and my apartment smells of a rich mahogany."

The reference wasn't missed by Netflix either, which took to Twitter to share a side-by-side.

Dead To Me fans are currently coming up with a plenty of bizarre fan theories and, despite the show only dropping earlier this month, many are already demanding a second season.

Although nothing has been announced just yet, the show's creator Liz Feldman, recently told The Hollywood Reporter she would be more than happy to give the fans what they want.

"It would be the pleasure and honour of my life to do this show for as many seasons as makes sense," she said. "I would do this show forever if I could.

"This show will always be a show that explores the dark sides and the light sides of grief, loss, forgiveness, and friendship. So suffice to say, there will be more darkness.

"There's an evening of the score and there's a rebalancing that will take place and almost, in some ways, a role reversal."
