Filming for series four of BBC2's Peaky Blinders has finished and the first season four trailer has dropped with a promise that the show is going 'back to basics'.
According to the show's creator Steven Knight, Adrien Brody's new character will be Tommy Shelby's 'biggest threat'. The screenwriter also revealed to Empire that Brody is the leader of 'a gang of Italian-Americans'. Watch the trailer here:

Game of Thrones star Aidan Gillen is the other new addition to the cast (playing a character named Aberama).
Here's what Knight had to say about his character: "[He is a] hard-nut gypsy who is said to be an 'uneasy' ally of Tommy Shelby.
"Aidan is... in the face of danger it's like pressing the nuclear button - you get him to help. Let me put it that way."

And Gillen's character will also be returning for the show's fifth season.
The next installment begins when Tommy receives a mysterious letter on Christmas Eve which reveal to him that the Peaky Blinders are in danger of annihilation. The release date isn't yet known

Speaking to radio station Today FM in his native Ireland, Cillian Murphy said of the next series: "In the classic gangster arc, the last season was sort of all about the wealth, the house and all that material stuff. This season is sort of a return to the roots. That's about as much as I can reveal."
When we saw them last, a fair few of them had just been arrested, while Tommy's wife, Grace, had been murdered. Now we find them six months on, ready to put the razor blades back in those flat caps and get going again.

It's safe to say we can't wait to see it on our screens again as soon as possible.
