​New Harry Potter Ride Opens At Universal Orlando

A new Harry Potter ride has opened at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, which has proven so popular that people have been waiting all day in line to get to it.

Having made its debut earlier this week at Universal Orlando's Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure takes visitors into the Forbidden Forest with Hogwarts gamekeeper, Rubeus Hagrid.

"For the first time ever, fly deep into the wilds of the Forbidden Forest, beyond the grounds of Hogwarts castle," the Universal Orlando website explains.

"As you twist past towering trees, magical creatures and wondrous surprises surround you. One misstep could drop you into an endless pit of Devil's Snare, or put you in the sights of a centaur's bow. Anything can happen here.

"With Hagrid as your guide, an all-new adventure is taking off as you board magical motorbikes to fly far into the dark forest.

"Hurl past impossible obstacles and dodge fierce beasts you've never seen before on a freewheeling coaster flight that will bring you close to some of the wizarding world's rarest magical creatures."

While the ride itself is only around three minutes long, that didn't stop people waiting 'approximately 8 hours' to get in on the action.

Well-aware of the world's obsession with all things Harry Potter, the theme park warned that the new attraction could experience 'high demand', and urged guests to use the Virtual Line system on the app to help ensure their place in line - although this is only available to use as of Friday 14 June.

Despite the long queues, it seems as though the ride has been a hit with the muggles able to bag a seat.

Uploading GoPro footage from the ride, The Potter Collector wrote on YouTube: "The ride is absolutely SPECTACULAR! From the theming in the ride queue to the speed of the motorbikes, sounds, turns, story telling, and special affects, NOTHING compares to this new ride at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida!"

Theme park lover Matt Dobrovolsky also tweeted: "Wow! Just got off Hagrid's and it's probably the best ride at Universal! Very thrilling and in no way family friendly! 7 launches, speeds up to 50mph, sharp twists and turns, and a vertical drop track that scared the crap out of me!"
