Game of Thrones is so well known for its epic battle scenes that even if you asked someone who'd never watched an episode what it was about, they'd probably say something like, 'massive battles and dragons'.
And they'd be pretty much bang on the money. There's no other TV show in history that has known how to craft the perfect battle scene quite like HBO's GoT.
However, even with previous breath-taking showdowns like the Battle of the Bastards and Daenerys Vs. the Whitewalkers setting the bar for season 8, it looks like things could be set to get even more spectacular
Jonathan Quinlan, an assistant director who has worked on 20 episodes of the show to date has shared a photo of a thank you card sent out to the cast and crew, following the completion of a monster battle that took a staggering 55 nights of filming to complete.
"This is for the Night Dragons," the card read.
"For enduring 55 straight nights. For enduring the cold, the snow, the rain, the mud, the sheep shit of Toome and the winds of Magheramorne. When tens of millions of people around the world watch this episode a year from now, they won't know how hard you worked.
"They won't care how tired you were or how tough it was to do your job in sub-freezing temperatures. They'll just understand that they're watching something that's never been done before. And that's because of you."
To give that some perspective, that's double the amount of time it took to film the Battle of the Bastards, which was one of the most monumental moments of GoT so far.
Even still, this 55-night epic may still not be the biggest battle season 8 has in store for viewers when it lands in 2019.
Rumour has it that there is still another complex, all-out war segment that needs to be shot before filming for the final season can be wrapped. If the hype is to be believed it could be even bigger and better still.
Whatever happens, we're going to have to wait until next year to see it for ourselves, but actor Kristian Nairn (who plays Hodor) recently told a press conference in Dubai that having read the script, he thinks it is going to be well worth the wait.
"It's going to be absolutely mind-blowing. You are going to be very surprised," he said.
