Have you seen Avengers: Infinity War yet? If your answer is no, but you plan on watching it, then it's probably better you don't read this.

It's not that we don't want you to, it's just that we don't want to ruin the film for you. Although, to be fair, the title might have already given some of it away. So please don't say we didn't warn you - continue reading this at your own risk.

With that out of the way, let's jump straight to the very end of the film - the bit where Thanos, having gathered all six Infinity Stones and placed them in the Infinity Gauntlet, snaps his fingers and, faster than you can say 'Deadpool', half of all life in the universe vanishes, just like that.

Marvel

Because everything in the Marvel Universe is interconnected - which must be a bit of a mindfuck for the writers when it comes to continuity between all the different films - in one of Ant-Man And The Wasp's post-credit scenes, Ant-Man (played by Scott Lang) is seen surviving Thanos' finger snap because he's stuck in the quantum realm.

Sadly, in that same scene, Hank Pym - the old Ant-Man, played by Michael Douglas - and Janet van Dyne - the Wasp, played by Michelle Pfeiffer - both disintegrate, which means poor old Scott has no clear way to return to his normal state.

Now, in an interview with Birth.Movies.Death., Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige explained the full extent of the devastation caused by the snap.

Asked if half of all animals - including ants - were dead as a result, Feige said, simply: "Yes! Yes. All life."

Of course, given how huge a money spinner Marvel Studios is, it's likely they'll find some way to circumvent or reverse that consequence.

Otherwise there'll be a very limited number of Marvel movies and TV shows coming out in the future, and nobody wants that, least of all Feige, because he'd be out of a job if that were the case.

So watch this space and all will eventually become clear.
