'Narcos' Season Two Could Be On Hold After Pablo Escobar's Brother Pens Letter To Netflix

Apparently Pablo himself wouldn't have liked season one because of the 'lies'.

Netflix's original series Narcos was met with an extremely positive response from viewers as it told the story of Pablo Escobar's life as the world's most famous drug kingpin.

So much so, Netflix was quick to announce a second series would be on the way and was pencilled in for a September 2, 2016 air date.

Naturally, fans were extremely excited by the news and couldn't wait to find for season two to start.

Now fans might need to wait a little longer after Pablo Escobar's brother has decided to get involved.

Apparently Roberto Escobar (pictured below) - the accountant in Pablo's empire - sent Netflix a friendly letter demanding the company stops filming the second series until he signs off what they're making.

Pissed off at season one for 'inaccuracies and lies', Roberto says his brother would not like the portrayal one bit if he were alive to watch it.

Roberto's letter is described by TMZ as a 'friendly request for cooperation' and wants a cut in the inevitable profits.

It reads:

Dear Netflix,

My name is Roberto De jesus Escobar Gaviria. I am the biological brother of Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria.

It is my wish that you do not release any Narcos television show or any other show or shows depicting me, my family or my brother Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria, unless I am given the rightful opportunity to review this material.

In the first season of Narcos, there were mistakes, lies and discrepancies from the real story, the story that I not only was part of making but that I survived from. To this date, I am one of the few surviving members of the Medellin Cartel And I was Pablo's closest ally, managing his accounting and he is my brother for life.

I am co founder and co owner of a company by the name of Escobar Inc that I founded with Olof Gustafsson and his partner Daniel Reitberg. We have registered the rights to Escobar and Pablo Escobar in the State of California. Please honour our registrations as such.

In addition to reviewing your television show, I must advise you to not release any merchandise as we control all such rights in accordance with California Civil Code 3344.1.

I hope you are not profiting from my show and if you are I ask you to share some profits with us. I may be wrong but I do not believe you may profit on my name, my brother's name and my family's name and our likeness unless you pay and get our approval.

If you wish you seek approval, I am available to discuss these matters through Escobar Inc. CEO Olof K Gustafsson Or Escobar Inc. COO Daniel D Reitberg. Our mailing address is postal box 212, Malibu, CA 90265 which also is of public record that you could have found before releasing this show.

This is a friendly request for co-operation. All we want is to make sure things are done right. My brother would not have liked season one. Maybe he will enjoy season two if you respond me and we solve these issues.

The letter itself is said to be stamped with the Escobar family seal.

How this will play out? No one really knows.

All I know is, if I was a Narcos executive, I wouldn't want to piss off the Escobar family.
