Fleur East's sister has spoken out to say the I'm A Celeb camp-mate was 'never vegan', after viewers have slammed her for eating meat during the show.

All the way back in September 2017, Fleur took to Twitter to say she'd been 'vegan for a month' and felt great.

Naturally, things such as kangaroo anus and drinks made of liquidised fish eyes aren't vegan friendly. So, before the show started many viewers assumed she'd be exempt from Bushtucker Trials involving the consumption of animals.

However, before the show even got to that point eagle-eyed viewers spotted Fleur tucking in to some wallaby meat, which is clearly not vegan. Flocking to social media, dozens of viewers asked the same question - 'I thought Fleur was vegan?'

The former X Factor contestant came in for even more flak when she was shown gutting a fish with her hands.

Now, her sister Keshia has appeared on telly to set the record straight.

Talking to Lorraine Kelly, she said: "[Fleur]'s never been a vegan. She was eating a vegan diet for a year for health reasons, but she's been eating meat since a trip to Africa in summer.

"She has been eating meat since then. I don't know why people are talking about her being a vegan - no!"

A tweet sent from Fleur's official account also reiterated the point:

If you really want to get into it - and you've come this far with me, so why not? - it's likely that Fleur was never really vegan, she was what is referred to as 'plant-based'. Veganism is more than just not eating animal or animal products, it's a whole lifestyle and system of beliefs which rejects the idea of animals being commodities.

Meanwhile, people who are plant-based just stick to a diet without meat or animal products, but will often still wear leather or wool, unlike vegans.

So, that clears that up then, yeah?
