Phillip Schofield Slammed Over Question To Plus-Size Athlete

Viewers of This Morning were left stunned by host Phillip Schofield, following a question he asked on the show to a plus-size athlete.

As you can see from the video below, Louise Green was on the ITV show to prove that you can be overweight yet healthy - but a Twitter storm broke out when Schofield asked her if she still ate doughnuts.

It's probably a fair question, although maybe it could have been asked more delicately by Phil.

Louise explained how healthy she is, under the caption: 'Big Fit Girl: You Don't Need To Be Slim To Be Healthy'.

She said: "Athleticism can be at every size. My blood pressure is low, I do rigorous exercise."

"I'm healthy, but I can only speak for myself," she added.

Louise weighs 15.9 stone, and is a UK size 16, but is bringing out a new book to help break the mould within the fitness industry. She does not promote the idea of being slim to be healthy and instead just wants us to be 'the healthiest version of ourselves'.

The plus-size trainer wants to boost self-confidence and for each individual to strive for their own perfect figure.

"In the UK, £2m is spent on the diet industry and it's failing people," she continued. "We need to take the focus off weight and try to be the healthiest version of yourself."

However, Philip made it all awkward when he asked: "Do you still eat doughnuts, though?"

Twitter went into meltdown...

Louise responded with: "Once in a while."

Asking the blunt questions, though, is probably a strong reason why we love This Morning, and particularly Phillip Schofield.

Only back in February, he took on Kim Woodburn after her appearance on Big Brother. Slightly more confrontational, Phil went word-for-word with the celebrity...
