The time has come, guys. Piers Morgan has waved goodbye to Good Morning Britain. No doubt that'll leave some of you disappointed while others punch the air in celebration, but either way, here's the catch - it's only until September.

The 54-year-old presenter and his co-host Susanna Reid, 48, are taking a six-week break to enjoy their summer holiday - alright for some, innit?

Depending on how you process this information, it'll be music to your ears or it means an unexpected break in your morning ritual of watching a red-faced Susanna cringe while the bloke to her right offers his opinion on the topic of the day.

Piers broke the news to fans on Twitter and later added a picture of himself looking somewhat haggard, created with the viral ageing tool FaceApp, adding: "I need a break."

Many people were quick to express their disappointment about Piers' six-week hiatus, with one saying: "You're going to be missed, Thurs and Fri aren't the same, let alone a full summer!"

Another added: "Thanks for the warning note to self DO NOT GMB UNTIL SEPTEMBER!!!"

Not everyone shared those sentiments, though, with one writing: "Fantastic. No @piersmorgan on @GMB until September. I can watch it again."

Another agreed, saying: "Sorted can start watching again. The irritants are on holiday".

According to Birmingham Live, Piers is due to join his wife Celia Walden at their Los Angeles home, while Susanna is believed to be off on a beach holiday.

It is expected that the pair will be replaced by Kate Garraway and Ben Shepherd during their time away.
