Piers Morgan was banned from being in the same room as a psychopathic killer over fears for his safety.

Piers has come face-to-face with a bunch of killers while filming in prisons over the years, but he claims that 25-year-old Paris Bennett, who he interviewed for his new show Psychopath with Piers Morgan was the most chilling of the lot.

When he was just 13, Bennett, who has a 'genius level' IQ, stabbed his four-year-old sister Ella to death, after spending weeks planning out the horrendous crime.

Speaking on ITV's Lorraine, Piers revealed he has 'never felt quite as chilled' as he did when faced with Bennett.

He told the host: "I have sat with a lot of killers, I did the Killer Women series and Serial Killer and so on, very dangerous people.

"I have never felt quite as chilled in a bad way as I was by that guy, because he was so intelligent. A genius level IQ, very articulate.

"The FBI profilers we brought in to advise us said: 'He'll have done his research on you very thoroughly, he will try and play you, he will be manipulating you', and I really felt that.

"I felt like I was in psychological combat with this guy."

Opening up about the encounter, which was Bennett's first-ever British interview, he added: "I wasn't allowed in the same room as him, the first time ever.

"I've interviewed serial killers who have killed, 12, 20 people in some cases and I would be two feet away but he was considered too dangerous to be in the same vicinity as, he had to be behind reinforced glass.

Piers Morgan was told he couldn't even be in the same room as Paris Bennett during the interview.

"They were concerned that he is so cunning and manipulative and smart that he might just use that opportunity to commit another murder, if he meets another human being on the outside.

"It was a very weird experience. Normally I feel quite comfortable and safe in those experiences but this guy...

"There was something about him that was really dangerous and menacing, because he was clearly so intelligent, and you just feel like he is gaming everybody."

In the show, which broadcasts on ITV tomorrow, Bennett also revealed the sick motivation behind his actions.

"One of the reasons why I chose to kill my sister and not someone else is because I knew that by doing that I could hurt my mother in the worst possible way," he said.

"Because I had always known, as a child, that the most devastating thing to my mother would be the loss of one of her children, and I found a way to take away both her children in one fell swoop."

However, his mum Charity says she forgives her son for his actions, despite still being scared of her child.

"I'm afraid of Paris still," she said. "But it's possible to love him and forgive him and still be afraid of him."

Psychopath with Piers Morgan airs Thursday at 9pm on ITV.
