Piers Morgan Says David Beckham Kissing Daughter Harper On The Lips Is 'Creepy'

While Susanna Reid defended Beckham, Morgan said the photo is ‘creepy’ and ‘weird’

You'll be surprised to hear that Piers Morgan has a bee in his bonnet again, and this time it's David Beckham that's in the firing line for all that bizarre furious energy. The lucky duck.

You see, ol' Goldenballs shared some holiday footage on his Instagram Story, and at one point he could be seen giving seven-year-old daughter Harper an affectionate kiss.

Only thing is, he kissed her on the lips - which is something Morgan has said is 'creepy' and 'weird'.

"So he's posted this picture, yeah it's very sweet," Piers said on Good Morning Britain today.

"[But] why would a father kiss his daughter on the lips? Don't get it - creepy. Weird. No one does that. Who does that? Then you post that for the world - you posted that for the world, why?"

His co-presenter, Susanna Reid, didn't seem to see the problem, hitting back: "Aww, they love each other.

"The interesting thing is he came in for a lot of criticism when he posted a video like that a couple of years ago and he's obviously just doubled down and thought, 'Well that's what I do.'"

But Morgan still wasn't convinced, and turned to the camera to say: "Weird, weird, weird, it's just weird."

Social media users don't seem to be siding with Morgan, with many saying it's only weird 'if you think it's weird'.

One person commented: "If you see a parent kissing their kid and find it weird it's you with a problem not them."

Someone else wrote: "I still kiss my mum, dad, grandad, nan on the lips and I'm 27! Nothing wrong with it at all."

A third added: "It's only weird if your intentions are weird. Normal parents are just showing affection; it's not sexual."

We've been here before, of course - quite literally, in fact. Back in November, Beckham shared another picture of himself kissing his daughter on the lips, and Piers was annoyed then, too.

In an exchange that makes the one above look a bit... well, Groundhog Day, Piers told GMB viewers: "It's just weird right? Who does that with their kids? Who kisses their kids on the lips?"

Presumably Susanna is getting a bit sick of this subject coming up - back then she pointed out: "People's parents still kiss people on the lips."

However, Piers insisted: "When kids are seven you don't kiss them on the lips."

Beckham has previously tried to defend himself on the matter, after sharing yet another similar photo back in 2017 with the caption: "Kiss for daddy."

Defending himself in a Facebook Live stream at the time, Beckham said: "I got actually criticised for kissing my daughter on the lips the other day.

"I kiss all my kids on the lips."

He admitted he probably wouldn't kiss son Brooklyn, now 20, as he's a lot older and 'might find that a little bit strange'.

"But I'm very affectionate with the kids," he continued.

"It's how I was brought up and Victoria, and it's how we are with our children.

"We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them, and support them, and we're very affectionate with them."

Wonder when this one will come up again. Pucker up.
