Rihanna Threw Serious Shade At Helena Bonham-Carter On Graham Norton Yesterday

They don't call her 'Bad Gyal RiRi' for nothing.

Working together on a film can sometimes put a real strain on already fraught relationships between co-stars. Actors tend to be a highly strung bunch in the first instance and sometimes that can boil over into open hostility.

Of course, this story isn't actually about that, but it is about some pretty hilarious shade getting cast around across the couch of The Graham Norton Show last night.

Helena Bonham-Carter was sharing the sofa with her Ocean's 8 co-star Rihanna, and the conversation moved towards a discussion of the recent Met Gala in New York. Basically, the Met Gala is a fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City.

It is basically an excuse for celebs to play at dressing up based around a certain theme and try to outdo each other in front of a pack of slavering photographers on the red carpet.

This year's event had a religious theme and, whilst some people didn't really buy into it, it is safe to say that Rihanna did.

She turned up basically dressed as the Pope. People went wild for her outfit and declared her the unofficial 'Queen' of the Met Gala.

Fair enough, then.

Graham was making a reference to that and asked all of the celebs gathered across the studio from him if they had attended the event before. Most of them had, but Bonham-Carter piped up to explain that she had never been invited.

"That's because you wear dresses like THAT" Rihanna quipped back.

To be fair, the dress that Helena was wearing was a bit loud. If I was being generous I'd even call it quirky. It's still nice to be nice though.

She wore the insult quite well, to be fair. She gave Rihanna a playful slap and laughed it off, all's well that ends well.

Needless to say - and in keeping with what happens literally every time Rihanna does anything - the internet went wild.

One said: "Who woulda though I would live to see Rihanna playfully shade Helena Bonham Carter's fashion choice."

Another said: "@rihanna burning Helena Bonham Carter on her dress on Graham Norton is me and to all my friends

"HBC: I have never been invited to the Met Ball

"R: Thats cause you wear dresses like that

"Ahahaha"

Ahahaha indeed.

Let's not forget that they were there to plug a movie - Ocean's 8. It's a spin-off of the original Ocean's trilogy directed by Steven Soderbergh and actually concerns a group of women who are planning to rob the Met Gala. Sounds fun.

You can catch it in cinemas now.
