Roman Reigns To Star Alongside The Rock In Hobbs & Shaw

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has shared a photo on Instagram that confirms his cousin (and fellow WWE Superstar) Roman Reigns will make his feature film debut in the Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw.

Johnson shared a shot of himself and Roman Reigns on set, showing them both, bare-chested and yelling. That's pretty much how you'd imagine that professional wrestlers spend a lot of their time.

He captioned the photo: "The brothers' roar."

In the film, Reigns - who is actually called Leati Joseph Anoa'i - will play the little brother of Johnson's character Like Hobbs, while Jason Statham will also star as Deckard Shaw after the two characters hit it off in a previous Fast & Furious flick.

The Rock's original post continued: "A lil' HOBBS & SHAW exclusive.

"Good times droppin' sweat and spillin' blood with my family, Roman Reigns who'll be playing my brother in our Fast & Furious universe. I'm very proud of his focus, effort and authentic performance in our movie for his very first time on film."

As anyone who knows anything about the WWE Universe will know, it's good to see Roman Reigns back doing anything at all. He recently took a break from the world of Sports Entertainment after he was diagnosed with leukaemia.

Reigns had previous defeated the disease 11 years ago, only for it to return, forcing him to put his wrestling career on hold.

Johnson went on to praise his cousin's attitude and determination in the Instagram post. The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star continued: "I'm also very grateful to spend this quality time with my cousin here in the islands as he takes life one day at a time to recover from leukaemia.

"His perseverance and humility battling this challenge has inspired our entire family as well as millions around the world in our beloved WWE Universe. Can't wait to see the 'Big Dog' return back to the ring - his positive & focused mindset to return is straight up next level.

"Til' then, this sacred Samoan ground you stand on is nourished with our ancestors' blood. Today, we nourish it with yours."

Well, here's hoping that Roman Reigns can make a full recovery and get back into the ring, or in front of the camera - or both, if he wants to - as soon as possible.

If you're looking forward to catching the movie, not to mention Reigns' debut, it's scheduled to be in cinemas from 26 June this year.
