Cast Members In Talks For Saved By The Bell Reboot

It appears that a Saved By The Bell reboot will be happening.

The much-loved show, which first aired in 1989, followed Zack Morris and his friends as they made their way through their teenage years at Bayside high school.

The remake will include original cast members Elizabeth Berkley, who played Jessie Spano, and Mario Lopez whose character was AC Slater.

Berkley will play a mother of one and Lopez is a father-of-three in the new series. Both will reportedly return in their new roles as parents of kids at the school.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, talks are taking place to get other cast members, including Mark-Paul Gosselaar, to hopefully return as well.

The official description of the rebooted show reads: "When California governor Zack Morris (Time out Governor Zack Morris?! Time in!) gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state - including Bayside High.

"The influx of new students gives the over privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality."

It is set to return as part of NBC's new streaming service, Peacock. Named after the company's logo, Peacock will be offered free to cable subscribers, or at a monthly charge. No pricing details have been announced yet.

The new service will launch in April 2020, with Saved By The Bell set to arrive alongside a rehashed Battlestar Galactica.

According to Vulture, it's been previously announced that The Office will be taken off Netflix in 2021, with NBCU stating that as of next Autumn, Peacock will be the only place you can stream Parks and Recreation.

Bonnie Hammer, who will be in charge of the service, said: "The name Peacock pays homage to the quality content that audiences have come to expect from NBCUniversal.

"Peacock will be the go-to place for both the timely and timeless - from can't-miss Olympic moments and the 2020 election to classic fan favorites like The Office."

"The Office has become a staple of pop culture and is a rare gem whose relevance continues to grow at a time when fans have more entertainment choices than ever before.

"We can't wait to welcome the gang from Dunder Mifflin to NBCUniversal's new streaming service."
