Martin Scorsese has penned an article in which he has praised Margot Robbie, revealing it was the 27-year-old actors 'stunning improvisation' that won her the part of Naomi Lapaglia in The Wolf of Wall Street.
The piece came as Time magazine included her in its annual list of the '100 Most Influential People', with the Academy Award-winning director describing Robbie as 'stunning in all she is and all she does'.
Since appearing opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2013 film, Robbie has shot to prominence, appearing in The Legend of Tarzan, Suicide Squad, and the upcoming I, Tonya.

Describing how she won a part in his movie, Scorsese writes: "She clinched her part in The Wolf of Wall Street during our first meeting-by hauling off and giving Leonardo DiCaprio a thunderclap of a slap on the face, an improvisation that stunned us all."

Robbie will next play figure skater Tonya Harding in I, Tonya, a film about her rivalry with Nancy Kerrigan.
Set in the mid-90s, it tells the story of ex-spouses Tonya Harding and Jeff Gilooly; who hired a man to break the leg of Harding's competitor Nancy Kerrigan at the National Figure Skating Championship, which ended Robbie's character's career.

The film has received a lot of praise from critics, with Rotten Tomatoes currently giving it a rating of 92 percent.
Robbie told IMDB that Tonya Harding, the woman who she plays in the film, has seen it. She said : "I personally could not watch someone distil my life into, you know, 100 and something pages, and she was so gracious and amazing about it. Really, really amazing.

"She was really complimentary about what we pulled off. She was really kind about my skating even though I'm nowhere near as good as I should be, but she was great."
It's hard to argue that her inclusion on the 'Most Influential People' list isn't well deserved.
