Small Child Wins Tag Team Title

Small Child Wins Tag Team Title

No, really.

Wrestling loves a weird gimmick, but even by the lofty standards of WWE weirdness, Wrestlemania has taken an unusual turn.

A small child has become tag team champion. No, really. A young boy, known only as Nicholas, picked up tag team gold alongside the hulking Braun Strowman, who had picked him out of the crowd just moments earlier.

The match had been billed as between The Bar - aka the mohicaned Irishman previously known as Sheamus and Cesaro, perhaps the world's strongest Swiss - against Braun Strowman and, err, someone else. Even going into the match, The Bar, who were champs, had no idea who they were facing.

Strowman came into the ring and announced that he would partner a fan, before taking to the floor of the Louisiana Superdome to find someone. His choice was a small boy, who identified himself only as Nicholas. Strowman promptly defeated The Bar on his own - save for a 10 second period in which he tagged Nicholas in - to make himself and his new accomplice tag team champions.

I personally can't see how they're going to work this one out going forwards - surely the kid has school tomorrow?
