Somehow, Rocky is the franchise that won't die. Despite the storylines being somewhat predictable, and sometimes repeated, we can't help but be on the edge of our seats.

Even with Sylvester Stallone reaching pensioner status, he's still going strong, and he recently revealed some interesting revelations concerning Creed 2.

It had already been teased that Ivan Drago would be returning to the franchise, but no one was sure in what capacity. TMZ Sports approached Sly asking him what sort of shit would be going down, and the 71-year-old wasn't shy when answering.

"It wouldn't be a party without Drago, would it?" Stallone said. "I'm gonna punch him. You know I gotta hit Drago once.

"You know what, tune in next week, it's gonna be good."

He was then asked about Floyd Mayweather making an alleged $300 million for his 'super fight' against Conor McGregor, to which he replied: "Is that what he's making? Jeez, he's gotta do better than that."

Recently 'The Notorious' Conor McGregor uploaded another training video in preparation for taking on Floyd Mayweather, on this occasion captioning it with the words of Ivan Drago from Rocky IV: "If he dies, he dies."

Does this add to the intensity of the event, or just make it a bit more of a spectacle? People are leaning the latter side, claiming that entire thing is just a money spinner and will be more of a circus rather than a boxing match.

Anyhow, Conor's clearly seeing himself as the villain in this situation, quoting Rocky's nemesis, who beat Apollo Creed to such a bloody mess he was in critical condition, prompting his words.

By no stretch of the imagination do we think that Conor thinks he'll be so on top he'll send Floyd to hospital fighting for his life, but it's good for publicity, init?

At this point it would be prudent to question which has a more absurd storyline, Creed 2 or Mayweather vs McGregor. We don't even know the script for the Creed sequel yet and it's presumably just as a barmy as the build up to the MMA meets boxing super fight.
