Watching The Exorcist when I was eight-years-old remains one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. And believe me, I've made a lot of mistakes.
I haven't watched it again since, probably because I still have nightmares about that backwards crab walk and I also imagine it'd probably look really fake and I'd wonder how on earth I was ever terrified of something so daft.
However, the film is about to get a modern day remake because Fox has ordered for The Exorcist to be made into a TV series.

The series is being described as a psychological thriller that follows Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and Father Marcus Lang (Ben Daniels) tackling a family's case of horrific demonic possession.
Actress Brianne Howey, from Horrible Bosses 2, has been cast as the possessed teen Charlotte.
It's not yet clear how many episodes there will be, or when we can expect them, but they have a lot to live up to.
