A nice touch.

Much has been said about the remake of Jumanji starring The Rock and the majority of it has been negative. Or at the very least, doubtful.

Robin Williams will forever be remembered as one of the big screen's most lovable characters, and it should probably be left that way.

So a remake of Jumanji sounded like a good idea to no-one, except the studio behind it of course, even with Dwayne Johnson attached, it feels like a bad move.

At least Johnson is in some way like Robin Williams, and hear me out, both are almost universally loved and neither of them take themselves particularly seriously, so if there's one good thing to come of the announcement, it was that.

But still, Johnson has very large boots to fill, and he seems to know that. As with most things The Rock does, he used Instagram to address the issue, writing: "I felt like in order to craft something cool we should begin where it all started. Award winning writer Chris Van Allsburg's source material of JUMANJI. Chris also wrote THE POLAR EXPRESS (later adapted by Robert Zemeckis and Tom Hanks) and has a very special & magical way of storytelling. I'm feelin' good and confident stepping into these shoes as a producer as well as actor to bring you something great that you and your entire fam can enjoy."

If, (and it's a big if) this comes together it surely has the ingredients to be a great family movie, but it's still difficult to remain anything other than skeptical.
