Most of us will know actor Thomas Turgoose from his breakout role in Shane Meadows' 2006 drama This is England - in which he played 12-year-old Shaun, a young LAD who gets taken under the wing of a group of young skinheads.

But that film is now well over a decade old, and a lot has changed in that time - including, it turns out, Turgoose's physique. Yup, he's now pretty ripped.

Sharing evidence of the transformation on Twitter, Turgoose wrote: "Went from over 13 stone to just over 10 stone. Feeling very good. Healthy and fit at the minute."

Fans on Twitter praised him for the impressive change, with one writing: "Looking great mate. Keep it going."

Another wrote: "Congrats fella no pain no gain and all that well done."

Saying the results were 'brilliant', one fan also asked him what the secret has been.

Turgoose simply replied: "No secret, just lifestyle changes."

What lifestyle changes would that be, pal? Well, in a later comment he divulged a little more, writing: "I enjoy exercise loads though, running, football, gym, good way of keeping sane."

He also said that the first photo was taken in Malia when he was 'smashed', meaning he probably wasn't doing much of the above then.

Others noticed there was something other than his weight that had changed in the photo - with many left confused by the disappearance of the shoulder tattoo from the first picture.

But Turgoose assured us all it's 'still there', just on the 'other arm'. The sheer wizardy of taking photos in the mirror, eh...

With his new hench physique, he's also one step closer to his doppelganger, Jordan Pickford. The two essentially became walking memes during recent World Cup, with Turgoose even tweeting the footballer to ask if he could play him in his hypothetical biopic.

Three months on and we've still heard no word of that Pickford-Turgoose collab, even though we all know it would be absolutely epic.

Looks like the actor will have to just keep at it with the football antics off-screen, for now.
