She's changed... Obviously.

If there's one thing that can really scare the shit out of you as a kid, it's that a sun with a baby's face used to sit above creepy characters laughing as they frolicked on a hill.

I am of course referring to the laughing baby on Teletubbies.

As with anyone who was a star in their younger years, the girl who played the laughing baby has grown up. I know, madness.

After keeping her identity a secret for years, Jess Smith revealed back in 2014 that she was in fact the laughing sun. She's now 21 and in her third year of a dance degree at Canterbury Christ Church University.

Back on her 19th birthday two years ago she revealed her secret and shocked everyone.

"So I've recently celebrated my 19th birthday and after a lot of thought, I've decided it's time to tell everyone," she wrote in a Facebook post. "I used to hide it but after a lot of encouragement from my friends at university, I've gained the confidence to come out with it.

"I am the sun from Teletubbies. There has been quite a few people pretending to be 'the sun' but only I could tell you the real story."

Jess believes she was picked for the roll because she was more giggly than others, and is now proud of her involvement in the iconic show.

As payment for her role, she was given £250 and a box of toys. Not bad for a toddler.
