There's only a handful of Christmas movies that stand the test of time, with films like Elf, Home Alone and The Grinch being shown on repeat throughout the festive period.

And while it's nice to think that the stars of these nostalgic movies never age and are trapped in some type of Christmassy time warp, it's always pretty shocking when you see pictures of them all grown up.

Macaulay Culkin, who played Kevin McCallister in Home Alone, looks pretty different nowadays, and so do the rest of his co-stars.

While Macaulay has stayed pretty much in the spotlight, some of his on-film siblings seemed to disappear, leaving us clueless as to what they look like now, like Kevin's sassy sister Linnie.

Thankfully, some photos of Linnie, played by Angela Goethals, have just emerged, and it is safe to say that she looks pretty different now.

Back when the film first came out in 1990, the actress was aged just 13, but was replaced by Maureen Elisabeth Shay when Home Alone 2: Lost In New York was released in cinemas two years later.

According to The Sun, Angela is now a mum-of-one. She has a daughter with a fellow actor Russell Soder, and the couple married over 12 years ago, back in 2005.

Angela hasn't completely stepped out of the acting spotlight though, as she's had a few gigs since Home Alone such as playing Kathy Sanders in Jerry Maguire alongside the likes of Tom Cruise and Renee Zellweger. The former child star even appeared in Adam Sandler's movie Spanglish.

According to her IMBD page, Ang has actually appeared in two movies with fellow Home Alone star Macaulay, the first being Rocket Gibraltar in 1988, and then everyone's fave Christmas film in 1990.

Kevin's older brother, Buzz, also seemed to disappear after the Home Alone blockbusters.

The classic Hollywood bully, his main role was to humiliate the younger McAllister - and yet invariably, Kevin would be the one who'd take the flak. Well, we did say he was a dickhead. But have you ever wondered how Buzz turned out in life? Wonder no more - he's told us himself, and it's darker than you might have imagined.

The young lad's troublemaking shenanigans have led many fans to ponder what he might be getting up today, and on a DVD extra uncovered by Franco Gucci at Moviepilot, several of the cast and crew of the original film have a go at speculating for themselves.

Guesses ranged from him being a surfer to being in banged up in prison.

"He's gotta be serving time somewhere for some offense. God knows it could be anything," said Freddie Hice, a stunt coordinator. Meanwhile, executive producer Scott Rosenfelt guessed: "[He's] either in Iraq, Afghanistan, on a police force somewhere or in jail."

But that's all just conjecture and thankfully Buzz himself - or Devin Ratray, the actor who played him, at least - was on hand to fill us all in on what he thought his character would be getting up to as an adult.

"I dropped out of high school my senior year and I ran off with Old Man Marley to join the circus," he explained. "And I did end up in prison just like everyone thought for putting a donkey in a bathtub in the state of Iowa."

However, the troubled youngster did manage to get something positive out of his time behind bars.

"While I was in jail, I finally ended up getting my PhD in marine biology and I am now the first marine biologist to identify and explain what trout sniffers are in the Mideast Atlantic. So yeah, I've been busy."

But it turned out that a career in marine biology just wasn't really what Buzz wanted from life, so he turned his attention towards his true calling and followed his dreams.

"I'm touring as Elvis. Not really as Elvis, just a one of his impersonators. I'm actually an Elvis impersonator impersonator. I impersonate Elvis impersonators."
