New Thriller 'Rupture' Looks Absolutely Terrifying As They Exploit Your Biggest Fears

New Thriller 'Rupture' Looks Absolutely Terrifying As They Exploit Your Biggest Fears

Bloody hell.

I know that there seems to be a million horror/thriller trailers out every year that promises to be the 'scariest yet' or 'absolutely terrifying', but I'll be honest. I watched this trailer and it had my heart racing. Maybe I'm just a bit of a shithouse and can't handle horror (that is true), but it's the SUSPENSE. I nearly turned it off.

This new film, Rupture, follows the story of a single mother called Renee.

As she leaves her home, she says bye to her child and carries on her merry way. As she's driving her car gets a flat tire (due to a mysterious device that's been attached to her wheel) and some blokes come over to help.

Next thing you know, she's been tasered and shoved into the back of a van. She wakes up in a random laboratory and all shit kicks off.

She's been abducted by a mysterious organisation who injects chemicals into her and subjects her to fear-inducing experiences (such as shitloads of spiders crawling over her face) in order to make her 'rupture'. But what does that mean? Well, they're attempting to get her to achieve an 'advanced stage of evolution'. Which can apparently only be achieved through being scared half to death. Interesting concept.

We can only wait and see if it's as good as the trailer suggests, but there's been a few horror movies which promise to be even scarier.

The Void

In April, new horror movie The Void will be hitting our screens, and the reviews so far seem to promise that it's going to be scary as balls.

The plot basically revolves around a police officer called Carter (played by Aaron Poole) who discovers a blood-soaked man limping down a deserted road. After rushing him to hospital for immediate night shift work, cloaked, cult-looking figures surround the building, driving the patients and staff inside "ravenously insane".

Carter takes the survivors into the depths of the hospital where they "discover a gateway to immense evil." There's not too much to the trailer, but if the reviews are anything to go by, it's one to watch.

Get Out

This new movie is the one everyone's talking about at the moment. In fact, it scored a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes recently (okay it only had 65 reviews at the time - but still).

It follows a young black man going to visit his white girlfriend's parents for the first time in New York.

I don't get whether it's supposed to be funny or scary, it's quite confusing. I guess I'll just have to wait until I go see it tomorrow to figure it out.

One of the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes said: "Funny, scary, and thought-provoking, Get Out seamlessly weaves its trenchant social critiques into a brilliantly effective and entertaining horror/comedy thrill ride." Sounds pretty bloody good to me.Featured Image Credit: Katrina Wan PR
