It's not going swimmingly...

It seems things are going from bad to worse for the new Top Gear team.

According to the Mirror, the relaunch was due to hit our screens on May 8. However, it's now looking like May 22.

A BBC spokesperson said: "We've always said we were working towards a May transmission for Top Gear and further detail on the date and series structure will follow nearer the time."

It looks as though the amount of episodes has also been cut down. Initially, they were pegged for eight episodes, and now it's six.

What is going on?

Taking on a completely new Top Gear was always going to be a daunting task, but hopefully they'll be able to sort it all out before the launch.

The whole country will be watching, afterall.
