What might seem like a run of the mill update on social media could incur the wrath of the police if you're in the wrong circumstances. That's what Gary 'Gaz' Beadle might be facing after his latest post on his Instagram story.

The Geordie Shore star filmed himself driving with his dog around his shoulders, which could end very badly if he were to get into an accident. Take a look at the footage.

One of the snapshots shows Gaz on a two-lane road, driving next to another car while his pooch rests in a precarious position.

Drivers who are caught using their phone while driving could get six points taken off their licence and a £200 ($271) fine. Gocompare car insurance spokesman Matt Oliver has told the Mirror: "Driving with your pet is sometimes a necessity, whether it's a short trip to the vet or a longer trip for a weekend away - but making sure they are properly controlled is essential for the safety of everyone in the car.

"The law is clear - you must secure your animal while in a car - therefore if you don't do this and an animal roaming freely around the vehicle is said to have contributed to causing an accident, then an insurance company could be well within their rights not to pay out on a claim."

According to the Express, police can also slap a £100 ($135) fine on a driver for being 'distracted' along with three penalty points. That can jump to a whopping £5,000 ($6,789) and nine penalty points, if the case goes to court.

Gaz picked up the Micro Pomeranian for his girlfriend, Emma McVey, last Christmas.

Since then, the pair have received the news that they are expecting their first child together. The notorious Geordie Shore bad boy found out this week that Emma will give birth to a baby boy.

Gary recently uploaded a photo to Instagram, showing the baby's first recorded heartbeat as well as a blue heart to show his sex.

That followed a video of the 29-year-old thanking his fans for their support. He said: "Thank you so much. It means so much, all the messages on Instagram and Twitter. I'm gonna be a dad. I could not be any more excited.

"I can't wait. I'm ready for it. I'm excited. I literally cannot wait to have a baby."

But if you're a big fan of his antics on Geordie Shore then start counting down the days, as it is debated whether he will leave the show once the baby is born.
