As if we weren't already keen enough for season 2 of Umbrella Academy, the cast have gone and shared some behind-the-scenes footage.

Gerard Way - former My Chemical Romance singer and creator of the graphic novel that the show is based on - posted the video of the table read for episode one of the second season on both his account and the show's social media.

The show's Twitter post had the caption: "Season 2 coming through."

Emmy Raver-Lampman, who plays Allison Hargreeves, introduces the video, saying: "You guys, we have some amazing stuff for you this season - can't wait for you to see it."

Then the whole crew appear, with Justin H. Min, who plays Ben Hargreeves, saying: "You know who's back? Ben is back. That's right you guys. We are so excited to finally have the family back together to start shooting season two of Umbrella Academy."

Ellen Page featured in the video too, later sharing a selfie with co-star David Castañeda on her Instagram.

We were already treated to Umbrella Academy news earlier this week, with confirmation coming through that filming had finally begun.

The news was announced by one of the stars of the show, Aidan Gallagher, who plays Number Five.

Posting to his Instagram account, the actor shared a GIF of himself alongside co-star Robert Sheehan, who plays Number Four, in front of the Toronto skyline.

It came with the caption: "Season Two starts now."

Netflix

The order for season two includes 10 hour-long episodes, which will be produced by UCP (Universal Content Productions). The show will premiere on Netflix.

Announcing the good news on Twitter, Netflix joked it would mean 'reading even more of your disturbing Robert Sheehan thirst tweets'.

"Best news ever," one Twitter user said.

"Woohoo! Yeeessss," another wrote.

The series is an adaptation the comics of the same name. It was originally created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, and as well as Page, Castañeda, Raver-Lampman et al, it also features Misfits actor Robert Sheehan and singer Mary J. Blige in an impressive cast.

The main story revolves around a band of 'estranged siblings with extraordinary powers', who are brought back together when their father dies. His cause of death is a mystery that they try to solve together, which eventually blows up to apocalyptic proportions.
