WARNING: CONTAINS YOU SEASON ONE SPOILERS

Haunting of Hill House star Victoria Pedretti has been cast as the love interest/potential stalking victim in the upcoming season of You.

The Netflix drama, which starred Penn Badgley as the very creepy Joe Goldberg and Elizabeth Lail as Guinevere Beck, was a huge hit with fans when it dropped late last year, and a second season was quickly announced.

The show, based on the book of the same name by Caroline Kepnes, had audiences hooked from the first episode as the unsettling story unfolded.

The new season will see Pedretti, who played Eleanor 'Nell' Crain in Haunting of Hill House, star as an aspiring chef who catches Joe's eye. Bad luck, love.

The news was announced on Twitter:

The second book is titled Hidden Bodies, which is maybe a big clue about what we've got to look forward to in the second season. In the book, Joe moves to LA in an attempt to start a new life, but childhood trauma catches up with him.

Series showrunner Sera Gamble has dropped a couple of little hints about what's in store for Joe, telling the Hollywood Reporter: "Part of the fun of continuing the story is that the loose ends from Joe's past are still dangling and could come back to him at anytime.

"He is very worried about the fact that Peach Salinger [the cousin of Beck, murdered by Joe in season one]'s family has hired people to investigate her alleged suicide, and there is evidence potentially still at her house from season one.

"If you look at every act of violence that he does in season one, that is potentially something that could come back and bite him. And Dr. Nicky [Beck's therapist] is in prison and he is ardently protesting his innocence."

When pressed further, she added: "It's too soon to say definitely whether John Stamos [who plays Dr Nicky] will return in season two, but we have been talking a lot about the character and we're excited to keep telling that story."
