*SPOILER ALERT* If you're not up to date with the Game of Thrones finale, do not read on. Especially don't ignore this warning, read on anyway and then cry about it in the comments. Because that really does my swede in. Right, let's go.
The King in the North. The Lord Commander. Bastard McHandsomeface. Jon Snow goes by many names. However, for someone who apparently knows nothing, he's doing pretty well for himself. Last week we finally found out about his true heritage. Jon Snow is actually Jon Targaryen (well, he is if Raegar and Leanna got married on the sly before he was born).
Ned Stark raised him as his bastard son to conceal his identity from Robert Baratheon. Why? Because Robert was up for killing Targaryen babies to ensure they couldn't claim the Iron Throne.
The poor lad had a tough upbringing. Caitlyn Stark, Ned's wife, hated his guts because he was a constant reminder of her husband's supposed betrayal and she didn't hide her feelings on the matter.
However, things are finally on the up for the character and this epic supercut shows how far he's come. From being a bastard who couldn't sit at the family table during feasts, to royalty in the biggest region of the Seven Kingdoms.
If you're a bit confused about Jon's past and what this means for his future, this video sums up all you need to know. He is half Stark, the Lords of winter, and half Targaryen, the blood of the dragon. So he truly is the song of ice and fire.
