Who Is Likely To Survive On This Week’s Game Of Thrones?

Who Is Likely To Survive On This Week’s Game Of Thrones?

And who isn’t?

Potential spoilers coming up and if you didn't see episode eight, seven blessings to you but please leave now.

Game of Thrones' explosive, chaotic, emotional and traumatic ninth episode is less than a week away. Let's be honest, episode nine is always bloody awesome in every series and this is bound to be exactly the same.

It's now almost become a tradition in itself for long-time watchers of the show to brace themselves for the worst as season six winds to a close.

It has, in some ways, been a mixed bag with regards to consistency - just like season five was.

Episode eight was back to Game of Thrones' best though as The Hound went on the warpath with his axe and Daenerys returned to Meereen when she was needed most, while Arya finally found out who she really is.

It also basically served as a tribute to Catelyn Stark, which felt a little odd given all the rumours of her incoming return as Lady Stoneheart.

Battling bastards is also on the horizon as the newly resurrected, but just as miserable Jon Snow, will fight fellow bastard Ramsay Bolton for Winterfell.

Surely some deaths are inevitable, so who is likely to see season seven and who is at risk of mega death? I took a stab (ha) at guessing:

Ser Davos Seaworth

I've said for some time that Davos will come to an horrific end. He's too much of a kind gentlemen to meet any sort of fate other than misery. That said, when he finds out what really happened to Shireen, that could be a pain to him worse than death itself. Or maybe not if Ramsay gets his hands on him. 50% Chance of Death

Sansa Stark

With regards to American TV, if a character is given a lot of screen time painted in an heroic light, it spells bad things more often than not. Sansa's arc from downbeat rape victim to a tactical negotiator and revenge-hungry young lady has been a much welcome one. Almost nothing ever turns out the way it should for Sansa though, and returning to Ramsay's stomping ground/torture fortress is a real bold move but could be asking for trouble. 60% CoD

Ramsay Bolton

If Game of Thrones was a pantomime there would be collective booing every time Iwan Rheon's unhinged and twisted character set foot onto the stage. I can only speak for myself but I'm tired of seeing him now; it's become somewhat of a marathon watching him, a test of endurance, and that may well be the point but if there's any justice in the Seven Kingdoms then the Jon Snow/Sansa Stark duo will hopefully deliver death to the smarmy prick. 75% CoD

Jon Snow

Jon Snow wasn't brought back from the dead to then die again, I'm just putting this here to bump up the word count a little. He still has to meet Daenerys, obviously. We all know this by now. 0.5% CoD

Grey Worm

Meereen is under siege, the slave masters have returned and they want back what they think belongs to them. Episode eight ended with the Unsullied barricaded inside The Great Pyramid, ready to fight for their lives and absent queen, who turned up just at the right time. For the second time it looks as if Grey Worm will find himself amidst streets of blood in Essos. He barely got out alive last time but if Khaleesi has her dragons on call, that will really sway the fight in their favour. 35% CoD

Cersei Lannister

It's hard to think that naïve, stupid King Tommen has done anything other than banish his mother to death by outlawing trials by combat. Having Zombie Mountain in her corner was her best bargaining chip for escaping the High Sparrow but that has been taken away from her now and she almost has no lifeline to cling on to. As insufferable and awful as she is, though, I will miss her silver tongue and the countless white hot wit she throws in to just about every conversation with anyone who disagrees with her. CoD 70%

Ser Jorah Mormont

Ser Friend Zone has been sent on a most-likely fruitless journey to find a cure for greyscale by his queen and one true love. And then he is to return to her, all healed and new to watch Khaleesi rule the world. Will the notion that nice guys always come last ring true? Probably. Will he get to go out like a hero fighting in the wilderness? Hopefully, but it's doubtful. Who does he have to fight for now he's separated from Daenerys? Cod 75%

And lastly, will all of these characters survive while Jaime or The Hound get their insides sprayed onto the pavement? Almost certainly.

Episode nine of Game of Thrones airs on Monday at 9PM on Sky Atlantic.
