It's certainly not the slick, sleek mansion everyone remembers.

Big Brother Australia was absolutely massive when it launched in Australia in 2001, with viewers tuning in their hundreds of thousands to watch a bunch of people live their lives in a house on the Gold Coast.

It's been five years since the show has been on our tellies and it seems like the massive mansion the contestants lived in has fallen into disrepair.

YouTuber Muitube decided to check out the property, which is located on Dreamworld.

Forget what you remember about the place: the beautiful pool, off pink paint, plants everywhere and pretty retro looking interior. That is all gone now.

Time has certainly taken its toll on the place and it certainly looks like no one has stepped foot there since the show ended.

It's certainly an interesting look at how the organisers filmed the contestants as the YouTuber shows you the hidden passages and rooms you obviously wouldn't see on the show.

What used to look like a sleek, slick mansion has now been turned into an overgrown vandalised mess.

The pool has now turned a nice shade of algae green and weeds have burst through the concrete.

Windows and mirrors have been smashed in and people have sprayed graffiti on the walls.

Weirdly though, some rooms look like they did the moment the cameras stopped rolling.

Whether it's because they're locked away or something else, but the dining area and one of the bedrooms looked untouched. The display pillows looked perfect and the cutlery and dining room table was set for a big banquet.

People viewing the video couldn't believe their eyes.

"Now it looks like the Chernobyl version of Big Bother," wrote one person.

"They shouldn't have let it rot! Should have done it up and made it a house people could rent out like Airbnb," said another.

A third added: "I feel sad after seeing this. If Big Brother ever came back, an entirely new set in an entirely new location would need to be built. I do not think any network will actually bring it back."

A tourist tried to get a tour of the place on the 16th anniversary of the show's first ever episode, however they were knocked back by Dreamworld, who reportedly said the house had been stripped bare and was condemned under health and safety regulations.

According to the Daily Mail, a fire broke out less than 24 hours after the YouTuber explored the facility and people are pointing the blame at them. The cause of the blaze hasn't been revealed or how much damage has been sustained.
