It's been well over two years since Battlefield 4 and just a little over a year since we got Battlefield: Hardline.
Next Friday we will have some definitive details on the next chapter in the franchise. IGN have reported that DICE will reveal the next installment of the Battlefield series on May 6th at a "world premiere" event.
The game will be revealed to attendees of the event, before a global livestream shows off as-yet unspecified details at 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm BST.

Unspecified details being the key words there, hopefully we will get a brief teaser and not just a logo reveal or an announcement that there will be an actual reveal at E3 in June.

According to IGN there are early reports that the game will move away from a modern setting and go back to World War I.

The game is likely to be released either this autumn or late 2017 if past release dates are anything to go by.
