Since before GTA V was even released in September 2013 there had been rumours that future DLC would link every single city together.
Mostly because ex-Rockstar North president, Leslie Benzies discussed the possibility of "one big world containing all our cities [that] let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas" back in 2012.
It sounded ambitious, perhaps overly ambitious, and nearly three years after release it's still never happened. All the DLC we have been presented with has been updates to the game's mammoth online mode.
But this image of what looks like a segment of Liberty City remade within GTA V's version of the RAGE engine seems to suggest otherwise. Maybe.
Adrian Page - who currently works at Rockstar, according to a LinkedIn page - uploaded a series of what look like in-engine concepts to the portfolio, of which one appears to be GTA IV's Middle Park location.
Here is the location in its original format:
And here is the new image:
Now, as IGN explain, it's far too early to start getting excited: "this could be porting work done to test the RAGE engine (some on GTA Forums have pointed out that the lack of 3D modeled grass could indicate that the screenshot comes from the last-gen version of the game), scrapped content, or a simple passion project on the part of Page."
Still, we can hope.
