Ellie Will Be The Only Playable Character In The Last of Us Part 2
Naughty Dog has confirmed that the only playable character in the up and coming The Last of Us sequel will be none other than Ellie.
It's been speculation for a while now but the developers have finally said something on the matter, with Neil Druckmann, creative director, saying: "Ellie is the only playable character in the game."
Sounds pretty certain, but we would take it with a pinch of salt. A lot could change from now till then, plus what the hell has happened to Joel?
If this turns out to be true, then the protagonist from the last game would not be returning for your control, but why would this be?
Although he appears in the trailer for a brief moment, he could well have died before the story of the sequel starts, or he goes missing so it's up to you to find him. His presence in the trailers could well have been a flashback so really anything could have happened, such as him turning into your enemy. We're just stirring the pot, don't worry just yet!
When a release depends so much on its story for it to be a success, it's obviousthat the company behind the magic don't want to give away too much. We might hear more nearer the time, but is that what you really want? Going into this blind might be the best way to play it.
The PS4 exclusive hasn't yet been given a launch date so you've got more than enough time to come up with fan theories of what's to come. Discuss amongst yourselves what you think could happen in the new instalment to the series and why Ellie seems the focal point of the next game.
