Fans Want 'Crash Bandicoot' On The Sony PlayStation Classic

When Sony announced they were releasing a mini version of the classic PlayStation, you could easily imagine the excitement and nostalgia that warmed the hearts of 90s kids everywhere.

Now imagine finding out the console - which promised to feature all the essential classic PS1 games - didn't include, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider or WWF: Smackdown. You can almost hear millennial hearts breaking all over the world.

Basically, it left a lot of people thinking, 'WTF, Sony?'

With these dead certain essentials not making the cut - and, Sony, we're still wondering why not - here at LADbible we asked you out of those four games you'd love to see featured on the console, and the results are in.

At a staggering 38 percent, Crash Bandicoot was the obvious winner - that wily little marsupial tore up the fictional islands of Wumpa, theoretically situated to the south of Australia, and stole the hearts of kids everywhere upon its release back in 1996.

WWF: Smackdown was a close second with 26 percent - following in the grand tradition of wrestling games, this one featured favourites like Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin. The game was awesome and provided your parents with relief from all that worrying about whether you'd use 'the chair' on your siblings - at least you had another outlet for it.

That quirky little purple dragon Spyro came in third at 19 percent, the absence of which from the console is surely a huge disappointment to 90s gamers. To be fair to Sony, however, all three Spyro games from that era have since been remastered and will be available for us all to induldge in soon enough.

Right on the bottom is a huge shocker - Tomb Raider. Poor Lara Croft drew in 17 percent of votes and it's hard to understand why. Surely, we all loved roaming around the Croft masion, being followed by her butler - then proceeding to lock him in the freezer? No, just me?

Along with these classics, even Tony Hawk didn't make the cut for the regen of the classic console - gosh, remember when Tony Hawk was the pinnacle of badass skaters?

But despite some notable absences, there are still 20 awesome games featured on the new console including: Final Fantasy VII, Grand Theft Auto, Jumping Flash and Metal Gear Solid.

So, fear not - there are still plenty of excuses to grab some Push Pops and Capri-Suns and just bask in the nostalgia.
