Jack Black Launched A Youtube Channel And Plans To Be Bigger Than PewDiePie

Actor, comedian, musician and now gaming vlogger - is there anything he can't do?

Move over DanTDM and PewDiePie, Jack Black has entered the world of video game vlogging and he's ready to dominate it.

Probably best known for his comedic roles - or being one half of rock parody band Tenacious D alongside Kyle Gass - Black joined the world of YouTubers this week after launching his new channel Jablinski Games, which will be centred around 'games, food, and life'.

In the introductory video, which has had over two million views, the 49-year-old funnyman explains he wants to be bigger than Ninja and PewDiePie, then he reclines exaggeratedly in his chair - a noted PewDiePie move - then flicks to a black screen which says fans can expect a new video every Friday.

In a caption below the video, he writes: "I just want to clarify that there is no production behind this. This is all my son. He's holding me hostage and I can't be traced. Help..."

His young son being the director seems an odd decision, but really who better to know the latest happenings of the world of young YouTubers than someone of the right age group? In fact, with Black's popularity already being pretty damn high, has this could give him the edge to dominate the Internet for years to come! Maybe.

PewDiePie, real name Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, is currently sitting on a more-than-successful 78m-plus subscribers to his YouTube channel - whereas at present Jablinski Games has a relatively modest audience of 780,000. But when you think Black only launch the channel in the last week and PewDiePie has built that fanbase over the past few years... well, you wonder whether Black could have him on the ropes soon enough.

It seems people are all for the A-Lister taking on the new platform - one person tweeted: "When jackblack plays megalovania in his intro video to youtube my body phased out of this world."

Meanwhile another person went slightly off-piste in comparing the performer to Scouse actor Ricky Tomlinson, writing: "Jack Black stars in The Royle Family remake."

Beard envy? Drawing weird parallels between the two actors' comedy stylings? We can only guess.

So far PewDiePie hasn't responded to his latest competition, but only time will tell if Jack has what it takes to take on the YouTubing generation.

PewDiePie posted earlier in the year that he would be closing his YouTube channel after he'd hit the 50m subscriber milestone, however this all turned out an elaborate joke by the Swedish 29-year-old, who's still cracking out his daily videos.
