'Monster Hunter: World' x 'Final Fantasy' Crossover Event Set For August

Monster Hunter: World is set to see it's biggest crossover event ever in August, with several Final Fantasy characters set to make appearances in the sandbox.

Fans will be excited to face enemies like the fearsome Behemoth, which is set to arrive in the Monster Hunter universe on 2 August, in a totally free update to keep players on their toes.

The update also brings Cactuars to the universe, which can be used to add to your collectibles with rewards like Cactuar cuttings, or to set traps for other monsters in the wild.

Final Fantasy diehards will be more than aware of the Behemoth, with it being one of the deadliest enemies in that franchise.

It's set to have the same impact in Monster Hunter, with vast rewards if you manage to slay the beast including exclusive Drachen armour, Palico armour, and the Gae Bolg insect glaive all designed to give players the edge.

Monster Hunter has a history of exciting crossover events, sometimes borrowing characters or weapons from other franchises.

Sometimes the crossover events will be with mainstream gaming names like Dead Rising and some times with more obscure media, like the Inuyasha manga - Monster Hunter Portable 3rd featured a weapon originally seen in that series.

Fans are getting very excited about the potential of the crossover event between two huge icons of gaming.

While Monster Hunter: World is only a few months old, released back in January, it has already become Capcom's biggest selling game of all time and has gathered postive critical success.

Capcom is set to continue adding to the game, so keep your eyes peeled for future updates.
