Everything Shown At Nintendo’s E3 Conference
Nintendo is one of the oldest and largest video game companies in the world and they've come a long way since starting out as a playing card company in 1889.
We're not going to bore you with a history lesson so we'll get straight to point - each year at E3 they manage to bring fresh ideas and show how they're still one of the top dogs in the industry, so here's a quick recap of what they revealed at the 2018 event.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
The classic fighting title will be even bigger and better than ever, with all the characters from previous games being retained as well as a bunch of new ones. They described it as the "the biggest crossover in gaming history" with this huge list of players to choose from:
Bayonetta, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Captain Falcon, Charizard, Cloud, Corrin, Dark Pit, Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong, Dr. Mario, Duck Hunt, Falco, Fox, Ganondorf, Greninja, Ice Climbers, Ike, Inkling, Ivysaur, Jigglypuff, King Dedede, Kirby, Link from Breath of the Wild, Little Mac, Lucario, Lucas, Lucina, Luigi, Mario (with Cappy), Marth, Megaman, Metaknight, Mewtwo, Mii Gunner, Sword and Brawler, Mr. Game and Watch, Ness, Olimar, Pac-Man, Palutena, Peach, Pichu, Pikachu, Pit, R.O.B., Robin, Rosalina and Luma, Roy, Ryu, Samus, Sheik, Shulk, Snake, Sonic, Squirtle, Toon Link, Villager, Wario, Wii Fit Trainer, Wolf ,Yoshi, Young Link, Zelda & Zero Suit Samus.
Loads, right? There's quite a few alterations, too, such as new challenges for you to complete. GameCube controllers will be the go to equipment for this instalment , as that's what most players use on the older ones, and you can also transfer your FP data from earlier games.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
This will be the first game in the series supported by Nintendo in 11 long years, since Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn was released in February 2007.
The tactical RPG has a lot better graphics than the previous title and will sure provide even more excellent gameplay, which has been long awaited.
It's expected to be releasing in Spring 2019 so pencil it into your diaries.
Pokémon Let's Go! Pikachu and Eevee
No, it won't be the next true next Pokémon game which everyone expected, and Nintendo didn't release any information on the matter.
However, this game should provide fans with enough to do until then, as these two titles will begin mid-November, as well as Pokéball plus, which will let you take your cute little Pokémon wherever you go in the world.
Daemon X Machina
This new project from Marvelous and First Studio will provide you with insane action sequences and cool graphics, but there wasn't too much revealed except the trailer.
More Like This
We know it's due to come out on the Switch in 2019 so stay tuned to find out more when we do.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Torna: The Golden Country (DLC)
This huge add-on for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will take place half a millennium before the main story line, and it looks like fans found it quite fun.
It'll be released as a standalone title at the end of September and a week earlier for owners of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Expansion Pass.
Super Mario Party
This new instalemt to the Mario Party titles will let you use the Switch to access different game styles. The trailer shows four people using two screens to maximise what they can do across them both, but it can also be played like a traditional game.
Super Mario Party is set to be released October 5.
Finally, the Battle Royale phenomenon will be able to play wherever you like with this Switch release, without it having to be touch screen.
Epic Games will also let this go onto the Nintendo store free of charge, like it is for everyone else, unless you play the Save The World game mode. Switch players will also be able to transfer their data from other platforms, except PS4.
It's actually available to download now, so what are you waiting for!
We won't go into too much detail about these ones as we've already spoken loads about what Nintendo are primarily focusing on, but you can expect these to be either coming over to the Switch soon or are being developed by a third-party/indie company:
- Bethesda's Fallout Shelter
- Hollow Knight
- Killer Queen Black
- Octopath Traveler
- Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion
- Three Octoling Amiibo
- Overcooked 2
- DragonBall FighterZ
- SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy
