COD fans rejoice: Rust is returning to Modern Warfare - as confirmed by the official trailer, released by Call Of Duty today.

You might already be aware that Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Season Two finally goes live on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC tomorrow (11 February). But fans have had the news confirmed that one of the all time most popular maps on the game, Rust will be in it.

The eagle-eyed among you will see, that at about 15 seconds in to the trailer above, you'll see the famous landscape appear, confirming that we will once again get to enjoy the map in all its glory.

And it's not just the return of the classic map that will get gamers excited, but a much-loved character is making a comeback too.

If you're not familiar with Call Of Duty, Ghost - real name Simon Riley - was possibly the franchise's most popular character - players were introduced to in 2009's Modern Warfare 2. Fans will no doubt remember his shocking (and heartbreaking) murder in that game's campaign. Of course, this new Modern Warfare is a complete reboot, so I guess Ghost is alive and kicking once again - this time as a playable Operator.

While Ghost was pretty much confirmed in an official tease from Activision last week, this is the first confirmation we've had for sure that they are both returning. Like Ghost, the popular map made its debut in Modern Warfare 2, and will no doubt be a welcome addition to the latest instalment of the online shooter.

Modern Warfare's first season of content saw a number of fan-favourites re-appear, including Crash and Shipment. We've known for a while that Rust would probably be coming back at some point, as we found out thanks to a massive data-mine that uncovered a load of classic maps.

Players can also look forward to two new base weapons: the GRAU 5.56 assault rifle and long-range Striker 45 SMG.

Naturally, there'll be the usual raft of cosmetic items, weapon blueprints, and Operator skins, all of which can be earned by playing through the game and rising through the ranks of the new Battle Pass.

The Tier 100 skin, for example, seems to be a pretty sweet alternate look for Ghost... so that's something for die-hard fans to work towards. Only one day to go until we can dive into Season Two and party like it's 2009.
