New PlayStation game Spider-Man: Miles Morales has paid tribute to late Marvel star Chadwick Boseman in its end credits.

The brand new action-adventure game - based on a character introduced in Marvel's 2018 movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse - finishes with a touching nod in remembrance of the actor, who passed away earlier this year.

The tribute read: "In loving memory of a noble king, Chadwick Boseman.

"His honour, strength, and compassion will reverberate for generations to come.

"Wakanda forever."

Gamers will see the heartfelt message after completing the game (which will take around eight to 10 hours of gameplay).

Boseman passed away in August following a long battle with colon cancer, which he kept private and continued to act in films such as Black Panther, Da 5 Bloods, and more.

As well as paying tribute to Boseman, Miles Morales also includes a statue to in memory of Marvel figurehead Stan Lee, who passed away in 2018.

According to IGN, the bronze statue can be found in the game's open-world on the Upper West Side - next to Mick's Diner.

Following the game's PlayStation 4 release on 12 November, fans also noticed that it contains a reference to the Black Lives Matter movement.

There's a huge in-game mural which is unlocked after you complete a line of sidequests.

A number of people have to be helped in New York and, more specifically, in his neighbourhood of Harlem.

After the missions are complete, the character will receive the 'Uptown Pride' suit which is black and yellow - the colours associated with the BLM movement.

Last month, another of Miles' side missions was teased - it involves a cat suit that contains an actual cat who helps the character take down his enemies, and has to retrieve the stolen possessions of a bodega owner.

Bodegas are often home to cats who scare rodents away from the shop's stockroom, and the burglars have heinously taken the owner's cat as well as the other goods. Also, the cat is called Spider-Man.

When Miles' rescues the cat and completes this mission, it seems that the feline friend has gained a taste for adventure, goes on to accompany our hero on his escapades as part of a special skin that comes with a backpack for the cat to cosy up in.

This isn't just an adorable addition though. During finishing moves in combat, Spider-Man (the tabby cat) will leap out, wearing a mask to protect their identity, and give enemies what for.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is now available worldwide for PlayStation 5 as of today (19 November).
