YouTuber Sets $50,000 Challenge To Build Tallest Lego Tower

This looks like so much fun

Those familiar with YouTuber Mr Beast will know that he enjoys setting up challenges and offering pretty impressive cash prizes.

So, his latest video should come as no surprise, as he pits his pals against each other to try and create the tallest colourful building block tower within 12 hours for their chance to win $50,000 (£39,477).

Friends Chris and Chandler jump to it and set about making the towers using the over-sized Lego-style blocks, before realising the scale of the task in hand and enlisting some help from their mates.

The two teams of four, complete with some specialist equipment, get stuck into the challenge and manage to get some decent structures up fairly quickly.

One team even pour cement down their tower to try and help strengthen it - but as they don't seem to have a bloody clue what they're doing, I doubt it makes much difference.

At one dramatic point, Chandler's team's tower topples after being hit by gust of wind and more than halved in size, leaving them a long way behind their competitors. Ouch.

But they don't let that stop them and they throw themselves straight back into it at impressive speed, quickly catching up to their competitors.

To add an extra element of excitement, Mr Beast allows a member from each team to lash a bowling ball at their competitor's tower in an attempt to topple it completely or at least knock a few feet off. However, neither manages to cause any damage, meaning it all comes down to the measuring.

In the end, the first tower, belonging to Chris's team, measured a whopping 29ft 4.5in but the second tower came in at 29ft 5.5in meaning the team claimed victory by just one single inch.

And what made it even better for the winning team was that they only had to split their winnings three ways, as Chandler actually had enough part-way through and went home - but they kindly cut him in the deal anyway.

In classic Mr Beast style, though, the lucky winners must spend all of their cash within one hour of winning it. I reckon I could manage that.
