As promised, the first trailer for Bad Boys For Life has finally dropped.
And despite the fact this installment takes place 17 years after the last, the pair of detectives played by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence haven't got any wiser.
Not that we're complaining - their guns-blazing approach to policing makes for razor sharp humour, high stakes action and explosions. Lot of explosions.

Who's in Bad Boys For Life?
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are set up to play the slightly older detectives Burnett and Lowrey. Joe Pantaliano also returns as Captain Howard. Alongside the veterans of the franchise are Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig and Charles Melton, Jacob Scipio, Paola Nuñez and, weirdly enough, DJ Khaled.

Khaled, who won't give oral sex to women because 'he's a king', will be playing the part of Manny the Butcher, who gets his finger chopped off.
The news of a new movie within the franchise was shared on social media by Smith, who posted a clip of him and Lawrence.
He said: "No, no, I'm telling y'all, I'm telling y'all, this is crazy, wait, wait, just wait... it's official, it's official. Bad Boys 3, it's happening, it's official. I'm telling you that's it - no more, you can't handle no more."

He captioned the clip: "It's been a LOOOONG time coming. But now it's Here! @BadBoys For Life. We back!! @martinlawrence."
Lawrence also shared the video, captioning it: "It's official. Bad Boys for Life. #teammartymar #badboysforlife@willsmith #weback."

Bad Boys For Life will be hitting the cinemas in the US on 17 January 2020 and will come to the UK a week later on 24 January 2020.
What were the original Bad Boys films about?
The first Bad Boys film was released in 1995 and followed lifelong pals, Burnett and Lowrey attempt to protect a witness to a murder while investigating the theft of heroin from their own precinct in Miami.

Bad Boys II came out a whole eight years later in 2003 and watched the pair attempt to stop MDMA from getting into Miami. The pair contemplate calling their partnership quits as we find out that Lowrey has been dating Burnett's sister. Obviously, the pair kiss and make up, because it's Hollywood after all, and bad boys are indeed for life.
The first trailer came out on 5 September 2019 and gave us our first glimpse of the due reuniting to take down a drug cartel in Atlanta. In true Bad Boys style, an attempt to calmly knock on someone's door for a chat ends with Mike kicking the door down, yelling "LAPD! Get down."
A baffled Marcus shouts: "What the hell happened to 'knock and talk'?!"
