Britney Spears has finally spoken about the controversial and highly publicised documentary on her life.

Framing Britney Spears revealed a hell of a lot about the way the pop star was treated during her career and even sparked an apology from former boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

Months after it aired, the 39-year-old has broken her silence on the way it impacted on her.

"I didn't watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in," she wrote on Instagram. "I cried for two weeks and well ....I still cry sometimes!!!!

"I do what I can in my own spirituality with myself to try and keep my own joy...love...and happiness!!!! Every day dancing brings me joy!!! I'm not here to be perfect...perfect is boring...I'm here to pass on kindness!!!!"

In addition to her love life, Framing Britney Spears focused on her fame and celebrity status as well as the conservatorship she's been living under since 2008.

Spears entered the conservatorship when she was aged 26, at a time when her struggles were well-documented in the media.

As the star's highly publicised breakdown made headlines, she was handed a court-mandated conservatorship to be overseen by her father, Jamie Spears.

Since then, however, there have been widespread calls for the censorship to be terminated, giving rise to the #FreeBritney movement on social media in support of the singer.

According to The New York Times, the film captures 'what the public might not know about the nature of Spears's conservatorship and her court battle with her father over who should control her estate'.

Britney has remained tight lipped on how she feels about the conservatorship, however efforts have been made to relinquish her dad's control over her life.

In her newest Instagram post, she elaborated on what it's like to have the world watch her every move.

"My life has always been very speculated...watched...and judged really my whole life!!!" she wrote. "For my sanity I need to dance to @iamstevent every night of my life to feel wild and human and alive!!!

"I have been exposed my whole life performing in front of people!!! It takes a lot of strength to TRUST the universe with your real vulnerability cause I've always been so judged... insulted... and embarrassed by the media... and I still am till this day!!!!

"As the world keeps on turning and life goes on we still remain so fragile and sensitive as people!!!"
