If you're new to Cardi B then you probably know her best for getting into fights in strip clubs. She is in fact a rapper, TV and social media personality who became famous after discussing her former career as a stripper. We've got the lowdown on the hip hop star and everything from her net worth to her latest twerking video.

What's her real name?

Cardi B was born Becalis Marlenis Almánzar on October 11, 1992. She grew up in the South Bronx, New York and was a member of the Bloods street gang. She attended a Musical Theatre and Technology High School and worked at an Amish supermarket before turning to stripping at 19. Cardi cites poverty and domestic violence as the reason she turned to strip clubs. She also used the money she was making to go back to school.

Cardi became an internet celebrity after a few of her posts went viral on Vine and Instagram. She then appeared on VH1 reality TV show Love & Hip Hop: New York. She used this fame to release her first mixtape in 2016 called Gangsta Bitch Music, Vol. 1. She released her second mixtape a year later, aptly named Gangsta Bitch Music, Vol. 2.

What Is Cardi B's Net Worth?

Cardi B's net worth currently sits at $8m (£6.3m) and is set to increase dramatically. Only a year ago she wasn't worth 7 figures.

Last month, Cardi B was forced to finish a concert in a bathrobe after her jumpsuit split open mid-performance in a shocking wardrobe malfunction.

She also had to pull out of a number of shows due to complications with cosmetic surgery. She took to Instagram to tell the world how bad she felt about letting her bank account down: "You know, I hate cancelling shows because I love money.
"I'm a money addict, and I get paid a lot of money, a lot of money for these shows ... like I'm cancelling millions of dollars in shows.

"But like, health is wealth, so I have to do what I have to do. My breasts gotta f***ing heal, and it is what it is."
This wasn't the first time cosmetic surgery got in the way of her money-making shows.

She previously announced mid-gig that she shouldn't be working - telling fans at Beale Street Music Festival: "I should have cancelled today. I shouldn't really be performing because moving too much is gonna f**k up my lipo. But b***h I'm still gonna get my mother f***ing money back, let's go." What a trooper.Featured Image Credit: PA
