Friends star Courteney Cox has teamed up with Ed Sheeran to recreate her epic dance routine from the '90s sitcom. Watch the duo in action below:

The cast of the TV series recently came together for a highly-anticipated reunion special, and many fans hoped they might get to see a few scenes recreated.

While the special did play back the original dance scene, Courteney and her on-screen brother David Schwimmer (Ross Geller) gave no indication that they were still capable of busting those infamous moves.

But Courteney, who played Monica Geller on the programme, has given us the next best thing.

Posting the routine to Instagram, she and Ed pulled out every single move from the routine, which first appeared during the show's sixth season back in 1999. Twenty-two years on, she's still got it.

According to Us Weekly, Ed and Courteney have been friends for years, with the title claiming Ed even introduced her to her fiancé Johnny McDaid.

But rest easy, Friends fans - we've since been given a reason why Courteney and David didn't do the dance during the HBO reunion.

NBC

Director Ben Winston did pitch it to the cast, however he told The Hollywood Reporter's TV's Top 5 podcast: "They just couldn't remember it. I don't think they wanted to dance in front of that studio. They're like, 'Don't make us dance in front of a crowd of people.'

"It's one thing doing it when you're playing Ross and Monica. It's another thing when everybody's sitting there, like, staring.

"Both of them were like, 'Oh, please don't make us do that.' You've got to pick what you want to push. There were certain things I really cared for, like the table read or the quiz.

"I also couldn't work out where it would have worked. I'm not sure it would have landed 20 years later. But it was definitely on my list of ideas that I pitched."

David was really pleased with the idea of the table read, as it allowed audiences to see what it was like when the cast first went through their lines with each other.

Even though it had been years since they were both on-screen lovers, he and co-star Jennifer Anniston showed they still had loads of chemistry.

We got to watch them perform a scene from season 2's 'The One Where Ross Finds Out', where they share their first kiss.

Ben said: "I knew that I wanted to do a Ross and Rachel section. Schwimmer said, 'You should get us to read the Ross and Rachel scene. That'd be a really cool thing to real.' David offered loads of brilliant ideas throughout this process."
