Demi Lovato has candidly detailed the drug overdose that nearly cost her life in a new documentary. She discusses the terrifying events in the trailer below:
In July 2018, Lovato was found unconscious at her home in Los Angeles. The singer had struggled with widely documented addiction and mental health issues, and a month earlier had released a song entitled 'Sober' which documented her relapse after six years of sobriety.

She was administered Narcan before being rushed to hospital.
Following the overdose, the star spent nearly two weeks in a hospital before undergoing treatment at a rehab facility and sober living facility for several months.
Now, as the 'Sorry Not Sorry' singer reveals in forthcoming documentary Dancing With The Devil, the incident was much worse than the public knew.
"I've had so much to say over the past two years wanting to set the record straight about what it was that happened," Lovato says in the trailer, later adding: "I've had a lot of lives. Like my cat, you know? I'm on my ninth life."

In the clip, she says the overdose was so severe that she suffered three strokes and a heart attack, and was left with some brain damage.
"I had three strokes. I had a heart attack," Demi said. "My doctors said that I had five to 10 more minutes.
"I crossed a line that I had never crossed."
Her friend Matthew Scott Montgomery is then seen asking: "Are we talking about heroin? Are we doing that?"

In one harrowing scene, Demi is even seen in a hospital bed hooked up to a drip during her hospitalisation.
Her mother, Dianna De La Garza, is then shown saying: "We're watching all of her blood come out of her body into a machine."
Demi tells the camera: "I was left with brain damage and I still feel the effects of that," adding that she no longer drives because of blurry vision.

The 28-year-old has long been open about her mental health, including her struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, having previously disclosed that she began using cocaine when she was 17.
She first entered rehab at the age of 18 and was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
The new four-part documentary will see Lovato talking about past traumas in her life and the pressures of working in the highly-scrutinised entertainment business.
She explains: "For the past couple of years, I've heard a lot of stories about my life and what people think has happened. I wanted to set the record straight and reveal it all for my fans."
